Exhibitions

An all women exhibition featuring works by 5 artists with studios in Jersey City, including Leigh Cunningham, Lindsey Frances Jones, Lori Perbeck, Larica Schnell and Xinyan Yu. LIGHTWORK is on view through Winter 2026 at the historic Majestic Theatre in downtown Jersey City.

11 artists will be represented through a specially curated digital presentation. The digital display will extend the exhibition beyond geographical boundaries, introducing guests to artistic perspectives from the United States, Canada, Italy, Spain and elsewhere.

This collection celebrates the diversity of female-led expression, weaving together bold abstraction, vibrant portraiture, and layered symbolism to highlight the power of contemporary women artists in reimagining identity, culture, and connection.

"she juxtaposes the elegance of a formal dinner with the mundanity of fast food. The central imagery of a cake, adorned with red cherries and playful ribbons, feels very symbolic. It serves as a critique of excess, bringing to mind the famous quote, 'let them eat cake.'”
